Would you like to operate your roller shutters electrically – without laying cables or chiselling into walls? With the new FORCA solar drive AM45-R-ES-E-Z by Eko-Okna, this is now particularly easy. The drive draws its energy from the sun, making it ideal for completing renovations quickly before winter.
Power from the sun, no mains connection required
A small solar panel on the roller shutter charges the built-in battery. It does not even need much sun: once fully charged, the drive runs independently for up to 180 days with one cycle per day. As no mains connection is needed, there is no electrical work, no cable ducts and no chiselling. Installation is quick and clean – perfect for retrofitting in an occupied home.
Sets itself up and stays accurate
The FORCA drive sets its end positions automatically and recalibrates them regularly on its own. Your roller shutter therefore closes precisely in the long term, without a technician having to come out to readjust it. If required, the motor can also change its direction of rotation automatically.
Protection against obstacles and freezing
If the roller shutter hits an obstacle or the slats are frozen in winter, the drive stops. This protects the curtain and mechanism from the typical damage that would otherwise require a repair.
ZigBee 3.0: control your roller shutter by smartphone app
The highlight for smart home fans: in addition to 868 MHz, the FORCA AM45-R-ES-E-Z also communicates via ZigBee 3.0. ZigBee is an open, widely used smart home standard. Version 3.0 ensures that devices from different manufacturers can work together in one shared network.
This is how smartphone control works:

Set up a ZigBee gateway: a ZigBee gateway (also called a hub, bridge or controller) is connected to your Wi-Fi router. It is the control centre of your smart home.

Pair the roller shutter drive: the FORCA drive is added to your ZigBee network via the gateway.

Operate it by app: using your gateway’s app, you can control the roller shutter conveniently from your phone – from the sofa at home or while you are away on holiday.
The gateway also enables schedules and automations: the roller shutter opens automatically in the morning, closes at sunset or responds to sensors. Depending on the gateway, voice control via popular voice assistants is also possible. And because ZigBee is a standard, other ZigBee devices such as switches, sockets or sensors can be combined in the same network.
Good to know: not every ZigBee gateway supports every device. Ask us before you buy which gateway suits your FORCA drive – we will be happy to advise you.
Of course, it also works without a smart home: the drive can be operated conventionally with a radio remote control (868 MHz).
